How is Karui different from other financial calculators?

Karui is built specifically for Singapore's financial system. It models CPF LIFE payouts, ABSD/BSD stamp duty, SRS tax spreads, WMCR eligibility, MediShield Life premiums, and Bala's curve for leasehold properties — all connected so changing one input shows the ripple effect across your entire financial plan.

Is my financial data safe with Karui?

Yes. All calculations run in your browser — your financial data never leaves your device. Karui does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Authentication is handled by Supabase with encrypted storage.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or using Karui ("the Service"), available at karui.sg, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Service Description

Karui is an online financial planning tool designed primarily for individuals in Singapore. The Service provides calculators, projection models, scenario analysis, and AI-powered informational content to help users understand their financial position. Karui is operated as an educational and informational tool. Karui is not a licensed financial adviser, fund manager, insurance broker, or any other regulated financial services entity under the Securities and Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act, or any other applicable legislation.

3. No Financial, Tax, or Legal Advice

All information, projections, recommendations, scores, and AI-generated outputs provided by Karui are for general informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on the Service constitutes financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or any other form of regulated professional advice.

The Service does not take into account your complete financial situation, objectives, or risk tolerance. You should not rely on Karui as your sole basis for making financial decisions. Before making any financial decision, you should consult with a qualified, licensed financial adviser, tax professional, or legal counsel who can assess your individual circumstances.

You acknowledge and agree that any actions you take based on information from the Service are taken at your own risk. Karui expressly disclaims all liability for any losses, damages, or adverse consequences arising from your reliance on information provided by the Service.

4. AI-Generated Content

Certain features of the Service use artificial intelligence to generate personalised informational content. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, omissions, or outdated information. AI outputs do not constitute professional advice and should not be treated as such. You should independently verify any important information before acting on it.

The AI features do not recommend specific financial products, securities, funds, insurance policies, or service providers. Any mention of general strategies (e.g., "consider increasing CPF top-ups") is informational only and not a recommendation to take any specific action.

Financial projections provided by Karui are based on mathematical models, assumptions about future conditions (including but not limited to investment returns, inflation rates, CPF policy, tax rates, and life expectancy), and your self-reported inputs. Actual results may differ materially from projections due to changes in government policy, market conditions, personal circumstances, data entry errors, model limitations, software bugs, or other factors beyond our control. You may create an account using third-party authentication providers. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account credentials.

You retain ownership of all financial data and personal information you enter into the Service. We use your data solely to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You may export or request deletion of your data at any time.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and reliability.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that any projections, calculations, or AI outputs will be accurate, complete, or up to date.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL KARUI, ITS OPERATORS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH:

Your use of or inability to use the Service;
Any financial decisions made based on information from the Service;
Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in projections, calculations, or AI outputs;
Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data;
Any third-party conduct or content on the Service;
Any interruption or cessation of the Service.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR SGD 100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Karui, its operators, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any financial decisions you make based on information from the Service; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation or the rights of any third party.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 3, 10, 11, 12, and 14 shall survive termination.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
